September can be a warm month or the start of cooler temperatures and Autumn excitement. In our little part of the world, it could be in the 50s one day and the 80s the next or even on the SAME day! That’s Michigan for you and I love it!! Well, I thought I would look to see what could get you outside this month and here are 5 Notable September Festivals in Oakland County.

First: September 13-15th – Troy Family Daze
Come on out and enjoy our diversity and heritage. This festival attracts many from nearby communities and there is definitely something that will interest everyone in the family! Bring an appetite because there will be plenty of regional cuisine, free stage shows, talent shows, amusement rides, youth/parent contests, a youth area with entertainment, games, and crafts, fireworks and more.
Second: September 13th – Metro Music Makers Free Concert
Enjoy a FREE concert at Red Oaks. Bring your own seating blanket or chair, no umbrellas. Concessions will be made available as well.
Third: September 21-23rd – Funky Ferndale Art Fair
The Art Fair takes place in downtown Ferndale at W. 9 Mile and Woodward Avenue. This art show features artists from around the county, plus interactive community art and activities for all ages.
Fourth: September 21-23rd – 2018 DIY Street Fair
11th annual DIY Street Fair is back and you won’t want to miss it!! There’s a lot to take in and enjoy and that includes craft beer, wine and cocktails, music, artists, makers and crafters, food trucks, and Kids Zone.
Fifth: September 30th – Taste of Clarkston
This festival is B-I-G and it is in its 21st year!! In the past, it has attracted over 18,000 people from across the county. They actually close down Main Street and line both sides of the street with over 50 restaurants and exhibitors.
