Michiganders are hearty people and we love our Michigan Lakes ALL 4 seasons in a way that some cannot possibly understand. Here’s what heightens our senses in the Winter on the lakes and yes, even a Polar Vortex type of Winter.
Lakes. The lakes in the Winter are so beautiful, but it is a different kind of beauty from the Summer. It is more soft-spoken. Even wildlife likes to come out and play on the lakes in the Winter. This is a photo I captured in early January of this year. That’s a coyote in the photo staring back at you.
Here’s a day we decided to clean off a portion of our slice of the lake and strap on some ice skates. No, I don’t have any photos of me or my husband with the actual skates on. We’ll let your imagination fill that part in. 🙂
And even in the Winter time, we get a respite and the lake “looks” almost as if you could jump in your boat and go for a ride. A cold boat ride it would be, right, but there’s no ice and there’s no snow to be seen. It is pure water and beauty! This was taken around the first part of December 2018. Can you believe it?!
And then you have days like this. Not every day can be perfect and we know that, but seriously, it is as close to perfect as can be.
There’s a saying that goes something like this, “If you’re lucky enough to live on a lake then you’re lucky enough.” It took us years of saving and planning to make this dream come true. We really went about budgeting ourselves and planning into the future. Was it worth it? Absolutely!!
If you are interested in living on a Michigan lake then let’s talk. I’d love to help you make your dreams come true!!
