Michigan’s March Calendar of Events and Activities

March 1st Bloomfield Township Senior Center, 4315 Andover Road, Bloomfield Township

The Birmingham Musicale’s string ensemble is set to perform, 10-11 a.m.

March 2nd (March 2nd through March 4th) Cobo Center, Detroit, MI – Autorama

America’s Greatest Hot Rod Show featuring over 800 Customs, Trucks, and Motorcycles

March 3rd Brown Iron Brewhouse, 57695 Van Dyke Rd, Washington, Michigan 48094

FIRST ICE FESTIVAL on the Patio from 11 am to 7 pm! They will be lighting the fire pits for you to enjoy a LIVE ice carving, along with many other beautiful sculptures. There will also be a great selection of rare beers on tap and a pig roast to keep you nice and toasty!

March 4th DNR Outdoor Adventure Center – 1801 Atwater St Detroit, Mi 48207, Detroit, Michigan

Exploring Archery Class – One-hour class starting at 1:30 pm will teach the basics. Topics include range safety, rules, equipment, the 11 steps to shooting and arrow retrieval. All equipment is provided. Children, adults and families are welcome.

March 5th Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room – Royal Oak, 29932 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, Michigan 48073

Take a virtual trip to Old Mission Peninsula during this delicious evening out! Caitlin Hammond, director of operations for Peninsula Cellars, will be here to lead us through a series of PC wines and share more information about the old schoolhouse-based winery, while Chef Chris Franz of Atwater in the Park serves up a multi-course gourmet dinner that pairs perfectly with the featured wine.

March 6th Rochester Play, 380 E. Second St, Rochester, MI

How about getting out of the house with the kids today and visiting Rochester Play! With an indoor play center you don’t need to worry about the weather. Let the kids tire the kids out here OR if you have energy to burn you can play with them. Great fun!

“Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event,” presented by Auburn Hills Police Officer Miller, will provide safety tips for the public, 12:30 p.m.

KIDS DRAWING AND PAINTING – AGES 5-10 IN SOUTH LYON. Designed with beginners in mind, it is perfect for children ages 5-10 years old, who are comfortable working without a parent/caregiver. In case the parents would like to stay at the studio, there is a separate space for them to wait.

56TH Ann Arbor Film Festival – MARCH 20-25, 2018, The Ann Arbor Film Festival is the oldest avant-garde and experimental film festival in North America.

March 22nd The Schvitz, 8295 Oakland Street, Detroit, MI  

Bubble Schmeisis – Welcome to the steam baths! The word bubbemeises is a Yiddish term meaning “a grandmother’s story” or “an old wives’ tale.” Writer and street performer Nick Cassenbaum, along with his klezmer musicians, invite you into the warmth of the Schvitz in Detroit, one of the country’s few remaining traditional bathhouses, which has been in operation for over 85 years.

Water’s Extreme Journey – Visitors experience the watershed as a water drop, exploring first hand the science behind the water cycle. But it’s not all wet and wild – through powerful interactives and local messaging, visitors realize that daily decisions can immediately improve the watershed in their own backyard.

March 27th Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, 25 Christmas Lane, Frankenmuth, MI

Easter Bunny Visits at Bronner’s – The Easter Bunny will be visiting children at Bronner’s in Section 8, Friday, March 16, through Saturday, March 31st.

March 28th, Outdoor Adventure Center, 1801 Atwater Street, Detroit, MI  

WOW – Wild Over Wednesday: Maple Trees, Part of the Outdoor Adventure Center’s WOW – Wild Over Wednesday program. The last Wednesday of each month, they offer free admission from 6 to 8 p.m. for all of the visitors and special programs, fun and games around a specific topic each month, plus enjoy all the exhibits at the Outdoor Adventure Center!

Great Marshmallow Drop 2018 – Starting at 10 am 15,000 marshmallows will be dropped from a helicopter to be turned in for a prize! You only need 1 marshmallow to turn in for a price.
