Take A Peak At The Oakland County Area 4th of July Celebrations

Oakland County area 4th of July celebrations are a fun time of the year for those who live and/or visit our little part of the world. Beautiful displays of fireworks, celebrations and fun times all around.  Here are some of the major shows and later in the week we’ll do another blog with the Metroparks and City Parks which have fireworks as well.

BirminghamCancelled annual Fourth of July fireworks show due to logistics and lack of manpower to control the crowds. Sad for some as it was an annual tradition, but may you can catch another show in one of the following communities.

A List Of The Oakland County Area 4th of July Celebrations:

  1. Clarkston – Clarkston Independent Fest. Fireworks begin at dusk on July 4, 2017. Location is 6000 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, Michigan in Oakland County. Parking is $5 a car until 2 pm. After 2 pm it will cost you $10 a car. There is also shuttle bus rides from 8 locations and will cost $2/person and free for 4 and under children. Event Website.  Do note that the Clarkston Independent Fest begins at 10 am with a parade in downtown Clarkston starting at St. Daniel Church and ending at the Clarkston United Methodist Church. You’ll find a day of fun from 11 am to 5 pm there will be a craft show at Clintonwood Park, dog frisbee, kids games and lots of fun!
  2. Lake Orion – Lake Orion 4th of July Fireworks. Be aware the fireworks in this area go off on July 1st with a rain date of July 2nd. Fireworks start at dusk. The location of this event is at the Lake Orion Fireworks Association at 3912 Silver Valley Drive, Lake Orion, MI 48359.
  3. Rochester HillsRochester Hills Fireworks 2017. This is the 2nd largest fireworks display in Michigan! The show is at Borden Park in Rochester Hills. It is on June 29, 2017 and starts at 6 pm with games, music and live entertainment. Fireworks begin at dusk.
  4. Royal Oak – Red Run Golf Course Fireworks. This is show is on June 29th from 9 pm to 9:30 pm. Location is at 2036 Rochester Road, Royal Oak, Michigan. The rain date is June 30th. Only for members of Red Run Golf Course.
  5. Oakland County – Leonard Fireworks 2017. The location is 1480 W. Romeo Rd, Leonard, MI on June 30th at dusk. There will be a whole weekend of entertainment besides the fireworks. Admission to the park is $15 per vehicle.
  6. Novi – Novi Fireworks is hosting the Stars and Stripes Festival Fireworks at Suburban Collection Showplace located at 46100 Grand River, Novi, MI. The festival runs Friday – Sunday from 11 am to midnight. The fireworks will close out the festival.
