Veterans Day events in Rochester and beyond, as well as across our nation, is a national holiday which commemorates those who served in the national forces. It coincides with Remembrance Day and Armistice Day, which are celebrated by other countries to recognize the end of the first World War. Formally, WW1 ended on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour. Did you know that?
Veterans Day recognizes ALL US military service members who served their country. This is not to be confused with Memorial Day which recognizes those who died while in service.

Farmington Hills Stars and Stripes Forever Celebration includes an honor guard ceremony conducted by the VFW and the American Legion and a roll call of all veterans in attendance. November 10th @ 11 to 1:30 pm.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Birmingham will be held Friday, November 11 at 11 am in Shain Park. It will be co-hosted by the Piety Chapter of the DAR and the City of Birmingham. The speaker will be Jim Hess, Vietnam veteran, and designer of the Great Lakes National Cemetery. All veterans present will be recognized by name and Vietnam veterans will receive a Vietnam War 50th anniversary lapel pin.
Lake Orion Veterans Day Ceremony 2017 will be held Saturday, November 11 at 11 am at the Orion Center (Orion Veterans Memorial) located at 1335 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, MI 48362.
TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based, family-owned restaurant group announced that its Applebee’s, Olga’s Kitchen, MOD Pizza and Del Taco restaurants will offer free meals to veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day to honor our troops.
